14.07.13 – day four
Woke up, like yesterday, around 8:30-9:00 AM. It was as hard to get outside of the tent, but this morning there were more active people, who didn’t sleep at all or just couldn’t sleep and started to drive aroung with their cars or just turned the music on. Many people did drive away during the night, but many people returned during the morning – just like yesterday.
After the breakfast most people – the one who were awake – started to gather all the stuff and prepare for cruise. Need to say, that many people drived away just after packing their stuff. But despite that around 240 cars went on cruise. At 1 PM first cars started the cruise, we were somewhere in the middle so we had to wait some 15-20 minutes before we could get out of the meetinh place on the road. The cruise itself lasted around 1 hour, went through the center of the city, then around the center back to the meeting point.
After that – the meeting is over, but not the trip. We met with my friend Chris and his girlfriend, had very delicious lunch at Classico Italiano. Medium expensive, but very nice, cousy Italian restaurant in the heart of Dresden with friendly waiters and chefs.
After the lunch we went to Chris place, had some chit-chat with his family about cars, traveling and other stuff. From Chris granddad I found out many new things about road rules in Germany. I have heard some before, but didn’t believe that was true, but now..
For example – if I change the trunk or hood, or doors or add side skirts, spoilers or something else, that didn’t come with this exact car from the factory, I then need to go to RTSD and they must accept that my upgrade/change is acceptable and then they write these changes in cars technical paper. But here – well.. Until all the lights are in place, tires are not going outside wheel arches, front windows are not tinted – you can do almost eveything you want. The same thing is for wheels and rims – here in LV – you can change and put on any rims and wheels that fit your car, but till they don’t get outside wheel arches. In Germany, if you change tires or rims – put on wider/bigger/smaller than from the factory you must go to RTSD and they must accept the changes and then you can drive only with those tires. And if you change something and RTSD don’t give acceptance, then police can confiscate your car or write you a ticket for that. But again – this counts only to those cars that are registered in Germany.
After these news, I wanted some beer and some snacks, so i could sleep tight. Talked a little more, watched some pictures and went sleeping, because tomorrows plan – get home.
